Unwind Brighton with YAK

It's time for another Unwind feature and another giveaway! I'm not lying when I say these are pleasing me no end! This giveaway is coming to you via new kid on the block, YAK, a small independent yarn and knitting shop based in Brighton. Fuelled by a passion for beautiful yarns and for the art and process of making YAK owner Kate is working hard to bring you a unique range of some of the best yarns and tools on the market.  There is a real focus on independent designers, spinners and dyers in the UK alongside carefully selected yarns from further afield.

YAK just opened up online and there's plans for a Bricks and Mortar store not too far behind which is always good news in my book. To celebrate a little, YAK are vending at Unwind and bringing some pretty awesome exclusives: Dye for Yarn are coming to town! Kate will be hosting a Meet the Dyer session with Nicole and Cordula, the creators of Dye for Yarn to celebrate the 3 yarn lines Kate will be carrying. The Meet the Dyer session is going to be an opportunity for people to find out which patterns would really suit the yarns and generally put a face to a yarn.  This will be a fun event for people who either love the yarns or who maybe have never come across them before and fancy learning a bit more about the yarns straight from the horse’s mouth. Kate says, "I love meeting the people behind certain yarns, it’s like matching personality to colours, it suddenly all makes sense.  And Dye for Yarn’s colours are RAD so they probably will be too!"

On the stall you will find an exclusive launch of Dye for Yarns 100% Tussah Silk Fingering base as well as the Laceweight Merino, Cashmere and Silk base and a DK Silk and Merino base that Kate already hosts online. If you fancy winning a skein of the Dye for Yarn laceweight, you can! In celebration of YAK becoming one of this month's sponsors, Kate has offered a lucky reader the chance to win a skein. All you have to do is look at the selection of colours currently in stock and leave a comment below telling me which colour you would like to win, along with your Ravelry ID. All comments must be left before midday on Tuesday 17th June 2014 as I will draw the winners by random number generator then. Good luck!

(There will be a 'meet the sponsor' post very soon as Kate is something of a darling and I want to tell you more about her- hurrah for LYS owners!)
