Ode to DPNs

I want to like you. I really do.

I don't want to be one of those knitters. You know the ones I mean right? The ones who talk in extremes. They can't ABIDE magic loop. They looooooooaaaathe bamboo/ metal or using a cable needle to cable . I want to be an 'All Techniques Welcome' kind of knitter. I mean, I try but those short rows aren't making that little mission easier I can tell you.

I flirt with dpn usage from time to time. If it's a certain diameter and I have the right size, I'll revisit this little army of needles. I find it quaint that rather than one circular pair of needles I need a little mini football team to work a round. It's like bringing a party to our knitting and I'm cool with that for the most part.

However, today I am 2 dpns down in my 4mm set for a reason I can't over look any longer. DPNs you are impossible not to lose. You roll away, you drop, you stick yourself into the depths of my wip so that I have to turn it inside out to look for you. Yes, I could try those little needle holder doofeys but if I'm honest dpns, you're high maintenance enough as it is without the escort.

So darling dpns, now considerably lower in number than when I started, I'm afraid I've had to reach for something slicker, with a bit more magic in it's loop shall we say? I tried to make it work but I hope you understand why this has to be goodbye for now.

Perhaps we can have coffee sometime?
